I have been collecting and trading comics and annuals for the last 30 years, both English and from across the world. In 2007 I took the hobby to a business level and started selling on-line via ebay, specialist websites and the my own website. I still use all 3 media for sales and purchases.
Originally I started with comics such as Dandy, Beano, Action, Warlord etc but then moved into Asterix, Tin Tin, Marvel and Manga. Generally I look to buy and sell older more rare editions but I also stock some recent comics where customers have missed that issue for some reason. After all these years I am now retiring and looking to pass the business on.
I turnover approx £50,000 ps although previous years have been better when i was more active. GP is about 40% but very much depends on the years mix of titles and scarcity. All I use to operate is my little old pc and some stock, currently around £3,000, various titles, some 1940’s editions.
The business is for sale with website, domain name, ebay ac and intros to other specialist sites for advertising. The business needs someone more active and dynamic with enthusiasm for comics. Reluctantly for sale at £70,000 + sav.
